Visitor Visa

As we are returning to normalcy after the pandemic, the number of non-resident visitors arriving from abroad to Canadian airports equipped with electronic kiosks in June 2022 is over 820,000 more than in June 2021, nearing levels recorded in the same month in 2019 before the pandemic.

Whether you come for a short trip or a long stay, visiting beautiful places or family visits, you must meet some mandatory requirements set by Immigration & Citizenship Canada. Visitor Visa also called a Temporary Resident Visa is an official document that the Immigration Canada will stick in applicant’s passport. It shows that the applicant meets the requirements needed to enter Canada. You may also need visitor visa if you are transiting through a Canadian airport on your way to your final destination.

Duration of Stay:

Most visitors can stay up to 6 months in Canada, the border services officer at the port of entry may allow you to stay for less or more than 6 months. If so, the officer will put the date you need to leave by in your passport which can be also given in a document called as visitor record which shows the date you need to leave by.

Visa Requirements:

Some general information:

  1. Applicant cannot be a threat to Canada or Canadians.
  2. Valid passport with at least more than 12 months expiry, proof of identity or other travel documents.
  3. Strong ties to the home country should be displayed, job, home and family usually helps.
  4. Proof of sufficient funds for the duration of stay should be provided.
  5. A letter of Invitation from someone who lives in Canada (Visiting family & friends).
  6. For more than 6 months stay, applicant may be required to undergo a medical examination.

 

Biometrics:

All applicants who are between 17 years and 61 years are required to provide Biometrics once every 10 years.
